Position Description
The Automation Director is responsible for the successful growth and future direction of the Anixter's overall automation strategy. This role will lead engagement with company's key automation suppliers, regional sales leadership team, field product specialist, and all internal functional groups (Purchasing, inventory, operations). The objective of this position is to understand current and future technologies our company's vendors offer along with finding new vendors to complete an automation portfolio.
The successful candidate should possess the following background, skills, and competencies:
- Ability to work collaboratively across multiple business units and functional groups
- Proven ability to grow a business throughout North America with both current customers and whitespace
- Develops strategies and business plans for automation group, supported by executable initiatives that deliver results in line with short- and long-term goals.
- Ability to organize & produce customer, vendor, and internal facing documents
- Ability to directly manage and develop solutions sales team -
- Ability to analyze and interpret complex data and produce reports to be easily understood by others
- Willing to take direction from multiple sources at Anixter and communicate between each
- Experience preparing effective sales proposals, reviewing contracts, and customer RFQ's
- Possess excellent communication skills and follow up across all mediums
Your sales skills need be unrivaled, but it also helps if you have:
- Prior experience with Utilities Automation is preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- A confident and determined approach
Work Environment
- Travel required, multiple trips per month to supplier, customer, or Anixter operations
- Within a collaborative, productive, and determined support group

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
