SUMMARY
This role provides strategic direction for specific Science products, is responsible for supporting the Director in the management of the product portfolio and is responsible for ensuring there is a seamless transition from strategy to execution with colleagues in product development, finance, sales, marketing and services within Learning Services..
SCOPE AND IMPACT OF JOB
+ Support the Director in the strategic plans and roadmap for product line(s).
+ Execute the business planning process for new investments.
+ Participate in product planning and development work in collaboration with product development teams to ensure timely delivery of market leading offerings.
+ Provide driving PM leadership and direction for new products
+ Maintain strong communication channels with Sales, Marketing, Development, and other functional departments.
+ Gather and analyze data to support the decision-making process for product plans.
+ Own and develop market requirements for Instructional Solutions product offerings.
+ Analyze financial performance of assigned product line(s) and under the guidance of the Director manage the P&L?s for those product(s).
+ Monitor and assess market and competitive trends and customer needs.
+ Develop, in collaboration with Marketing, strategies and materials to support Sales product knowledge.
+ Work with Product Development to prioritize competing requirements.
+ Provide leadership to ensure that the daily operations for the managing the product line are maintained
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
+ Drives planning and execution of a strategic plan for the product line in close collaboration with the director of Science Product Management.
+ Working closely with Pearson colleagues and clients, develops an extensive awareness of the product line?s strengths and weaknesses relative to educational trends, market opportunities and competitive threats. Recommends adjustments to product strategies to maximize opportunities for top-line and bottom-line growth and leverages Pearson?s assets to compete effectively and increase revenue and profitability.
+ Supports, encourages and fosters intelligent risk taking and innovation solutions to build and deliver new business models that improve educational impact of our products and financial performance.
+ Works with product development and finance to coordinate the timely development of product requirements and budget so that it is clearly understood early on the financial parameters and alternative business models for a product and the resulting investment returns.
+ Working with sales and marketing, creates the positioning and marketing strategy for the respective product lines and to be successful in the marketplace.
Qualifications
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
_Formal education or equivalent_
+ Bachelor?s degree required; Master?s of Business Administration preferred
_Related work experience_
+ 5 years of publishing or related industry experience.
+ Knowledge of the K-12 Science market and product strategies along with overall K-12 market. Past experience in teaching or education related product development, marketing or sales is a plus.
+ Proven experience effectively leading a cross functional teams
_Skills_
+ Proven ability to build product strategies and coherent business plans and oversee those products from conception through sales.
+ Strategic thinker who can integrate and translate educational trends into product solutions and market positioning.
+ Proven ability to lead a cross-functional team, create a supportive work climate, and deliver results as a team.
+ Strong track record of developing partnerships, both internal and external to the organization.
+ Ability to develop and monitor P & L?s.
+ Strong writing and communication skills

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
