If you want to work for a successful company, our client has an opportunity for a Controller role with leadership responsibility for managing the U.S. accounting and finance organization. Functions include the reporting process (which includes reporting to both the parent company and internal management). This full-time position is for a Controller who will work in the North Shore of Illinois. If you can plan and direct all accounting operational functions, handle the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluate accounting and internal control systems, and lead departmental staff, you might be right for this position. Effectively manage self and others within strict time constraints when providing client services will be essential for this role, and a creative type who can lead while also being a team player, generate innovative ideas, and challenge the status quo. Major responsibilities
Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor on a monthly basis
Handle daily cash management and produce cash-flow reports, calculating cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals
Responsible for month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations G/L analysis
Meet client expectations by reviewing deliverables of self and team to make sure they meet client satisfaction
Research, prepare and execute Finance Department initiatives such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as required
Present executive committee and partners with monthly financial reports
Assess, execute and streamline policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies
Collaborate with executive team and partners to make efficient and effective firm-wide operation possible
Direct finance department activities, such as accounts payable, billings collections, and payroll
Drive the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques to ensure the timely cash collection
Qualifications
BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field
Advanced credentials such as a Masters of Business Administration / MBA or Certified Public Accountant / CPA are preferred
7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred
Earlier experience in public accounting is highly valued
Good understanding of Microsoft Power BI
Practical knowledge of auditing
Proven knowledge of financial analysis
General familiarity with budget forecasting
Foundational knowledge in sales analysis reporting
Previous experience working with presentation preparation
Revenue reporting
Excellent written/verbal communication and organizational skills
Requirements
Self-starter and strong ethical standards
BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field
Prior work in technology, analytics and management experience desired
Earlier experience in public accounting is highly valued
Able to build and deliver effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds
Good understanding of Microsoft Power BI
Well-founded grasp of forecasting
Earlier work involving Microsoft Office
Practical knowledge of auditing
Quality experience with auditing
Proven knowledge of financial analysis

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster.
