Job Description
Position Profile:
Anixter is seeking an Senior Systems Security Engineer/Analyst for its Information Security team in Glenview, IL.
This role works with members of Information Security, Infrastructure Technology, Project Management, and Business Systems teams to assess and design appropriate security measures for the protection of corporate information assets. The Senior Systems Security Engineer/Analyst is responsible for the development of solutions, controls, standards, designs, and documentation to establish and maintain information security systems. In addition, the role provides technical guidance to engineers and consultants/partners in support of strategic projects, new initiatives, necessary re-designs or re-engineering, and operational support so that information is appropriately protected from a wide variety of problems including unauthorized disclosure, unauthorized use, inappropriate modification, premature deletion, and unavailability.
The Senior Systems Security Engineer/Analyst responsibilities include:
+ Performs business requirements analysis and develops appropriate technical specifications, solutions, or controls to meet business requirements.
+ Evaluates endpoint, server, database security controls and integration requirements for on-premise and cloud-based services, such as O365, SaaS applications and IaaS solutions.
+ Prepares and maintains security operating standards, procedures and associated documentation.
+ Identifies inefficiencies and makes suggestions for process improvements.
+ Works with IT Security Operations team on necessary monitoring and metrics to evaluate effectiveness of critical security controls for both on-premise and cloud-basedservices.
+ Enhances existing design of solutions; answers technical and procedural questions for less experienced team members; teaches improved processes; mentors team members.
+ Determines security requirements by evaluating business strategies and requirements; researches information security standards; conducts system security, vulnerability analysis and risk assessments; studies architecture/platform; identifies integration issues; prepares cost estimates.
+ Writes clear requirements and implementation guidelines for the implementation teams.
+ Ensures that designs adhere to approved architecture principles.
+ Guides and confirms that the requirements have been implemented as per design.
+ Documents the design and follows the review process for a solution description document.
+ Verifies security systems by developing and implementing test scripts and processes.
+ Upgrades security systems by monitoring the network environment; identifying security gaps; evaluating and implementing enhancements.
+ Updates job knowledge by tracking and understanding emerging security practices and standards; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
+ Enhances department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
+ Develops reports for management review regarding effectiveness of security controls, audit compliance, etc. by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends.
The ideal candidate will have:
+ 7-10 years? experience in Information Technology with a focus on Information Security
+ Bachelor?s Degree in Computer Science, preferred
+ CISSP(CISSP-ISSAP is a plus), GIAC, or equivalent certifications
+ Solid understanding of TCP/IP and networking concepts
+ Solid understanding of Operating System security concepts
+ Understanding of malware, emerging threats, attacks, and vulnerability management
+ Strong deductive reasoning, critical thinking, problem solving, and prioritization skills
+ Experience assisting the development and maintenance of tools, procedure, and documentation
+ Customer service including the resolution of customer escalations and incident management
+ Ability to work in a fast-paced, support team environment
+ Ability to develop detailed process and procedure documentation
+ Ability to present complex solutions and methods to general community
+ Excellent written and verbal communication and organizational skills
+ Strong team player who collaborates well with others to solve problems
+ Strong interpersonal, problem solving, and communication skills
+ Deep knowledge in Network Security and Operating System Security Architecture
+ Wide breadth of knowledge across security products, tools, and industry trends

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
