1.
Overseeing and managing financial records and reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
2.
Utilizing your advanced Excel skills to conduct thorough data analysis and report generation.
3.
Applying your knowledge of construction-specific software (ERP) to streamline and enhance our accounting processes.
4.
Preparing and managing the annual budget, including conducting variance analysis to identify and address discrepancies.
5.
Performing account reconciliations and resolving any discrepancies or issues.
6.
Managing payroll tax and sales tax returns, ensuring timely and accurate submission.
7.
Collaborating with other financial team members and departments to ensure a cohesive and efficient financial operation.
8.
Proactively identifying opportunities for financial growth and efficiency, and making strategic recommendations to senior management.
9.
Keeping abreast of industry trends and regulations to ensure our accounting practices remain current and compliant.
QualificationsThe ideal candidate for the Senior Accountant role will have:
1.
A minimum of 2 years of experience in a senior accounting role, preferably within the construction industry.
2.
Proven expertise in accounting and financial analysis, with a strong understanding of financial statements.
3.
Proficiency in advanced Excel, including the ability to conduct complex data analysis and generate comprehensive reports.
4.
Experience with construction-specific software (ERP) is highly desirable.
5.
Demonstrated experience in budget preparation and variance analysis.
6.
Experience in accounts reconciliations, payroll tax, and sales tax returns.
7.
Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in your work.
8.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team and liaise with various departments.
9.
A proactive and strategic mindset, with the ability to identify opportunities for financial growth and efficiency.
10.
A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required, and a CPA designation is preferred.
